In just 20 minutes a day, Count On It! provides targeted intervention for students who need help with math problem-solving. The consistent four-part lesson plan guides students systematically through each strategy in four explicit, carefully scaffolded steps: Understand the Problem, Make a Plan, Solve the Problem, and Check Your Answer.
Lesson problems feature real-life, high-interest scenarios and controlled reading levels to keep students motivated. For each strategy there is ample practice, including three model problems of increasing difficulty, gradual release towards independent practice, writing about math, writing an original problem and solution, a strategy check, and a cumulative review. See below for the problem solving strategies used in Count On It!
