Measuring Up Customers Increased Test Scores and Academic Performance Rankings See how several schools in Los Angeles have increased their California Standards Test (CST) and California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) scores, and raised their Academic Performance Index (API), California's school ranking indicator based on state test results and growth across all content areas. Examine a school that previously held an Academic Emergency rating but now, having implemented the Measuring Up worktexts, has moved up two levels to a Continuous Improvement rating.
By adopting Measuring Up worktexts at the district level, ECCSD equaled the playing field and provided all students with the same opportunities. This curricular consistency may have contributed to increased test scores.
In a school that works with students on suspended expulsion orders from the district, English language arts test scores improved dramatically, with 100% of students passing the High School Exit Exam in 2005-2006 compared to only 69% of students passing the prior school year.
