Measuring Up to the Ohio Academic Content Standards

Measuring Up to the Ohio Academic Content Standards employs a 4-part instructional model that can be used year-round with struggling students to supplement your basal curriculum. 

To ensure mastery of key concepts and skills, each Measuring Up lesson includes:

• Focus on the Ohio Academic Content Standards
  Introduces the lesson content and taps prior skill knowledge
• Guided Reading Instruction Shows how to apply key skills and strategies from the Ohio Academic Content Standards to reading selections and includes Guided Questions that focus the student’s attention
• Apply the Ohio Standards
  Students practice what they’ve learned before answering questions in test format.  
• Ohio Achievement Practice Wraps up each lesson with an array of multiple-choice and short-response questions that mimic OAA format and build test-taking confidence. 

Building Stamina activities at the end of each chapter develop higher order thinking skills with multiple-choice and extended-response questions similar to those students will encounter on the OAA.
